WDBMOV serves a nine-county area (Calhoun, Clay, Jackson, Mason, Pleasants, Ritchie, Roane, Wirt and Wood). The WDB provides employer services: interview space, assistance in developing job descriptions, wage and salary data, meeting space, job fairs, screening and hiring employees. Training services include:
On the job training (OJT) – Is a wage reimbursement program for employers. Qualified employers, hiring a WIOA eligible participant, can receive up to 75% of wages reimbursed for up to 480 hours. All OJT positions must be for permanent full-time employment with at least 32 hours a week.
Apprenticeship Training - All Union and non-union registered apprenticeship programs may be eligible for up to $4500 reimbursement of classroom training and related supplies costs.
Incumbent Worker Training (IWT)- Eligible employers may qualify for up to 50% of training reimbursement for current employees who have been employed for at least 6 months. This training reimbursement is designed to either assist workers in obtaining the skills necessary to retain employment or to avert layoffs. IWT must allow employee(s) to move into a higher skilled, and higher paying wage within the company within the company.
Customized Training- Classroom training reimbursement for new or recently hired employees that must lead to a wage increase.
