In 1984, Drilling Appalachian Corporation (DAC) was incorporated, with its corporate office located in Alma, West Virginia. In its thirty-three years of development drilling, DAC has been involved in the design, drilling and producing of more than 450 conventional wells in North Central West Virginia (Tyler, Doddridge, Wetzel, Ritchie, Gilmer and Marion counties).

To help meet the growing needs and demands of the Marcellus- Utica play, DAC Energy, LLC was formed in 2010 to take on the construction and development side of things. DAC Energy has been involved with over 30 pad designs and builds in Northern WV and Eastern OH.

DAC Energy is a locally owned and operated company with extensive experience in all phases of the industry, including leasing, permitting processes, well site construction, drilling, completion, and production. DAC Energy employs 34 field and administrative personnel, as well as consulting professionals all committed to providing a quality product from American soil.

The founder and President of DAC is Kenneth R. Mason, a native West Virginian, a graduate of Valley High School and a 1975 graduate of West Virginia University. He has been involved in the oil and gas industry for over 40 years, with strong ties to the industry even before forming DAC Energy in 1984.
